Program
The Programme Prevention of the Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) infections fits with its assumptions into the Developmental Strategy of the Health Protection in Poland for the years 2007–2013 adopted on 21 June 2005 by the Council of Ministers, the document accompanying the realization of the National Developmental Plan for the years 2007– 2013 and in the National Health Programme for the years 2007 - 2015 in particular, in the strategic goals 7 and 8 i.e. Increasing the efficiency of prevention of the infectious diseases and infections and Reducing the social and territorial inequalities in the population’s health condition and the operational goals 5 and 15 i.e.: Limiting the usage of the psychoactive substances and the damages connected therewith, including the health damages and Increasing and optimum usage of the health protection system and the self-government infrastructure for the needs of the health and health education.
It is worth mentioning the World Health Declaration, adopted in 1998 by Poland at the Worlds Health Meeting, which confirms that health is one of the basic rights of the human being. Moreover, the Strategy Health 21 – the health for everyone in the 21st century – defining the directions of the health policy of the National Health Organization in Europe; the assumptions of the programme of the European Union in public health (decision 1786/2002/EC), the Decision of the European Parliament and the Council no 1350/2007/EC of 23 October 2007 establishing the Second Community Programme in Health for the years 2008-2013. The programme also fits in the National Strategic Reference Framework for the years 2007 – 2013, which defines the priorities and areas of usage and the implementation system of the Union funds: European Fund of Regional Development (EFRR), European Social Fund (EFS) and the Coherence Fund within the frames of the Community budget for the years 2007–13.
