Project 3 - Aim of the project

The main objective of “Preliminary programme of routine HCV testing among pregnant women“ is to improve prevention of the vertical HCV transmission and to reduce harmful clinical consequences for vertically infected children.
For the detailed aims of “Preliminary programme of routine HCV testing among pregnant women“ included:

  • assessment of justifiability and feasibility of routine HCV testing in pregnant women,
  • estimation of the prevalence of HCV infection and indication of the risk factors based on examinations in pregnant women.
  • increase of knowledge of obstetrics, gynecology specialists and primary care physicians on prevention of vertical HCV transmission as well as of primary careof the newborn of an HCV infected mother.
